NORTHWEST CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL

As Education Director for the Northwest Chocolate Festival, 2015-2018, I organize one of the most extensive chocolate education programs in the world, consisting of 80+ presentations, panels, tastings, and interactive exhibits on a variety of topics related to ethical supply chains, cultural explorations, flavor and processes for craft chocolate, industry trends, stories from origin producers and craft chocolate makers.

The Northwest Chocolate Festival and concurrent Unconference represents the largest gathering of craft artisanal chocolate makers in North America. Chocolate makers, cacao producers, and industry professionals from across the globe come together to share their knowledge, products and inspiration, with major focus on strengthening sustainable supply chains and producing the highest quality craft products.

As Collaborative Trade Fellow for Impact Hub Berkeley, I helped Yellow Seed bring together multi-stakeholder working group sessions for organizations and businesses in sustainable food and agriculture (with focus on chocolate and cocoa) to collaborate on joint initiatives regarding sustainability metrics and supply chain relationships. Yellow Seed is a community marketplace for cacao growers, service intermediaries, and buyers to connect and trade with one another as a means to facilitate "collaborative-trade". More Info
ARTISAN CHOCOLATE
Advanced training at Ecole' School of Chocolate Arts and home-chocolate making inspired me to launch a small-scale cottage chocolate business as a way to further explore my professional interest in chocolate, food, and sustainable cocoa from an artisan perspective. Focus on healthy chocolate confections and home chocolate making from the bean. |
